Educapaz Colombia: Guardians of the Territory Climate Action & Risk Management

Last week, the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict’s Peace Education Working Group member, Educapaz’s Andres Felipe Ossa Naranjo, shared highlights of one of their latest intergenerational projects. Called “Guardians of the Territory”, it highlights the role of girls, boys, youth, and rural women as protagonists of climate action and risk management in their communities.

Educapaz is creating 5 podcasts and a related booklet about the integration of environmental education and disaster risk management through this initiative. The resources will be accessible from their web page.

The podcast topics include:

1. Girls: Care and Territory - inputs for climate action

2. Women: Traditional knowledge for climate action

3. Intergenerational dialogue: Climate change mitigation and adaptation

4 & 5 - Proposals for collective action
